A Jurassic gem

The Jurassic links of this town are evident throughout its streets and cobbled harbour, with fossils and nods to the dinosaur era around every corner.

The famous harbour, The Cobb, is a beautiful spot to wander on your trip, where you can watch boats drift in and out, try your hand at crabbing, or head to the aquarium at its far end.

Delightful cafes and pubs are found throughout the town, with some of its finest eateries situated in the harbour area with sublime views out across the sea and towards the east.

Lyme Regis’ literary links also run deep, featuring heavily in works by the likes of Jane Austen and John Fowles’ The French Lieutenant, of which a film was later made featuring Meryl Streep which was partially filmed in the town.
