Swanage is a charming coastal town nestled on the stunning Jurassic Coastline. Surrounded by natural beauty and steeped in history, Swanage has something for everyone. Take in stunning bay views or stroll around the independent shops and traditional amusements. The popular beach is the perfect spot for a sandcastle competition, or simply relax with a picnic in Durlston Country Park. Swanage is a fabulous base for exploring the picturesque Purbeck Hills, a haven for hikers and nature enthusiasts. Discover the iconic Old Harry Rocks, visit Corfe Castle, or embark on a scenic steam train journey through the countryside. Other attractions within 9 miles include Monkey World, The Tank Museum, RSPB Arne and the walled town of Wareham.

Set at the end of a characterful terrace, a shared pathway leads to the private entrance door into the cottage. Once inside you are met with a welcoming open-plan lounge/diner. This inviting room has a seating area to the front complete with smart TV and a sociable dining area to the rear, ideal for leisurely family meals. A doorway leads from here into the compact kitchen, where you can prepare your favourite dishes. A steep and narrow staircase rises from the dining area to the first floor where you will find a light and bright king-size bedroom and the bathroom. A further flight of steep and narrow cottage style stairs will take you into the eaves of the property where there is a twin bedroom with lovely views across the rooftops to the distant hills and sea beyond. Please note that due to the setting at the top of the house there are some areas of restricted head height and open access to the stairs within this room.

A door leads through a small porch into the outside space. Stone steps give access to an enclosed garden with natural stone paving (uneven in places), furniture and established planting, which is the ideal place to enjoy your morning coffee.

The cottage Poppledtones is ideallly situated for a walking holiday enabling easy access to the Jurassic coastline and also only 5 minutes walk into Swanage. The cottage feels like home from home and after a long day hiking it was lovely to curl up on the sofa and relax, (having Netflixs was a real bonus too). Popplestones is a really beautiful, recently restored, end of terrace Victorian house. We had a very comfortable week in November using the house as a base for the many walks which were easily accessible from the property. Highly recommend.

Lovely comfortable cottage, warm and well appointed. Close to town centre and beach. Top bedroom really lovely in the roof space. There is a good pub 5 minutes away and a spare store. Garden looks lovely too (not used as it rained a lot). Be aware if mobility is an issue that it's up a short hill and the stairs are slightly steep. But it's not thatRead more bad and it's worth it. Popplestones is a lovely cottage, well placed for town and walking. Well equipped with comfy beds and hot shower. Kitchen has lots that you need if you are looking after yourselves in the cottage. Parking is easiest on the road at end of terrace as its a tight squeeze for the parking space in front of cottage.

We loved our short break here, so clean and quiet. It is obvious that there has been so much care and thought put into the cottage. We love Swanage and the walk to Old Harry rocks, all around the Purbeck coast and came home feeling much more human, thank you Mandy.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Popplestones as a holiday home holiday in Swanage. A brilliantly located cottage with a superb host. The cottage is 2 minutes from one of the best pubs, and barely a 5 minute walk into town. This is perfect property for a family of 4 to stay in. I'm not sure you will find nicer or better value accommodation in the town. Hide
