Discover rural Dorset at its best with a stay in the village of Chaldon Herring. This peaceful spot is home to a popular pub and is surrounded by rolling countryside, perfect for all manner of outdoor pursuits. For those who can’t wait to get outdoors and breathe in the fresh sea air, the coastal path is 1.5 miles away and iconic Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove just 2 miles. For families, attractions include the Bovington Tank Museum and Monkey World, both within a 5 mile radius. The county town; Dorchester, is 10 miles away, where you can visit Kingston Maurward Animal Park, the Dorset Teddy Bear Museum, several other museums or enjoy a meal at the bustling Brewery Square.

This property is on the end of a short row of pretty cottages. Upon entering you’ll find a compact hall with room for boots and coats, and there’s the choice of two rooms. Straight ahead is the country style kitchen, which has an opening to the lounge/diner, making this a welcoming and sociable space. With comfortable seating beside the stunning inglenook fireplace and a dining area just opposite, this is a lovely spot in which to relax with the family after a day spent exploring. A steep, winding staircase leads to the two bedrooms and the bathroom, newly fitted in 2023. Due to the age of the property there are beams, steep stairs and some areas of restricted head height, which only adds to its character and charm.

To the front of the property you’ll find a lush lawn, surrounded by flowerbeds and shrubs. Take a seat with a good book and your morning coffee and watch the world go by.
