Marshwood is a tranquil spot a mere 4 miles from the Jurassic Coast, making it an ideal base for a holiday spent touring or simply relaxing in peaceful surrounds. The hamlet sits within open countryside and is part of a hill fort in the care of the National Trust, where you can enjoy panoramic views and many walking routes. Within 5 miles you will find popular beaches at Charmouth and West Bay, as well as Lyme Regis, known for its historic Cobb harbour and picture-postcard streets, which are full of boutique shop and eateries. Abbotsbury with its subtropical gardens and swannery, Eype, Burton Bradstock and the county town of Dorchester, former home of Thomas Hardy are all within 20 miles.
The entrance into this semi-detached cottage is found via a gravel path, which leads to the sun room. This light and bright room has space to dine and a doorway to the kitchen. Traditional in style, the kitchen has all you need to prepare light meals before settling down beside the wood burner in the adjacent lounge. Leading on from here you will find a compact snug with space for two to relax in front of the Smart TV. Just next door is the shower room with WC. From the snug a steep, cottage style staircase rises to the first floor. A double bedroom is to the right, the bed is set against a wall with access from one side. There is a king-size zip-and-link bedroom to the left and walking through this bedroom will take you into the king-size bedroom, which completes the accommodation. Due to the age of the property, there are low ceilings and areas of restricted head height in places, which only adds to its character and charm.
Doors from the lounge lead out onto a compact raised deck with seating for two to enjoy morning coffee or a sundowner, whilst taking in the amazing views. A rolling lawn is below the deck and to the side of the property, which is enclosed by hedging to create a natural ambience.
