This historic former monastic grange dates back to the 15th century and has been lovingly restored in line with its Grade II*-listed status. As well as an original character in abundance, you will find all the home comforts you would expect. Attached to a farmhouse, yet with privacy assured, here you will spend your days within the rolling countryside, but also only 2.5 miles from the coast. Keen walkers will enjoy the direct walks from the property to either Coneys or Lamberts Castle. Families will find plenty to see within 5 miles, such as Charmouth which is ideal for fossil hunting, the pretty town of Lyme Regis with its charming streets and Cobb harbour, Bridport for independent shopping, or the village of Symondsbury, which sits at the foot of Colmers Hill and is a great spot for walking.
From the shared drive, a private door leads through an original Tudor arch into the entrance hall where you are surrounded by original features, including huge stone quoins, plank-and-muntin partitions, and flagstone floors. Straight ahead is the rear entrance hall and ancient prayer room used by monks centuries ago, now home to a mini pool table! To the left is the beautiful kitchen/diner with a central island making it a very sociable space to enjoy family meals. Just off the kitchen is a separate WC. At the east end of the house is the large, dual-aspect lounge, which has a wall-mounted Smart TV and a wood burner, an ideal space in which to relax after days spent exploring or at the beach. Upstairs, there are three beautiful bedrooms and a bathroom. The largest bedroom is along the landing at the east end of the house. This room has great countryside views, a king-size bed and a single bed available on request. Next is a twin with a stunning original plank-and-muntin wall. At the west end of the property is the double bedroom. Completing the accommodation is a striking bathroom. Please note: due to the age of the property, there are some uneven floors.
There is an enclosed lawn and gravel garden at the front of the house, and a further gravel area to the rear of the property. In an adjacent barn is a tennis table, shared with the attached property.
