The peaceful village of Milborne St Andrew is surrounded by verdant countryside, yet offers excellent links to the Jurassic Coast, including Lulworth Cove and the spectacular Durdle Door. The cottage is on the fringe of the village with lovely traffic free walks direct from the front door to explore the local countryside on the fringes of the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village offers a country pub, village shop and post office. The town of Dorchester is a short drive and offers a great selection of amenities as well as cinemas, museums, pubs and restaurants. A short drive inland will bring you to the Georgian Market town of Blandford Forum, alongside the River Stour, with wonderful walking routes, including water meadows and a trailway that runs to Sturminster Newton, ideal for families of cyclists and those with dogs.
A door leads from the roadside into this striking end of terrace cottage. A welcoming hallway has a staircase rising to the first floor and also leads to a comfortable lounge with inglenook fireplace, original bread oven, wood burner effect gas fire and a TV. Just opposite is a further room in which to relax, the snug, this room also has a TV and space to enjoy a board game beside a wood burner effect gas fire. Set to the rear of the property is a fabulous open-plan kitchen/diner. The kitchen area is equipped with an electric range style oven and induction hob, a further electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, fridge and dishwasher. A central island makes the most of the space and there is room to dine and sofas to relax on, just opposite. An inner hallway leads to a useful utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, plus a separate WC. The second of two staircases rises from here to the first floor. There are a choice of bedrooms on offer here, including a king-size bedroom with en-suite shower and WC set to the front of the cottage, a double bedroom with en-suite shower and WC and a further double bedroom with a garden view. A family bathroom can also be found on this floor, with a wonderful free-standing bath and WC. A narrow staircase rises to the second floor where there are further bedrooms. Due to the position within the eaves there are beams and areas of restricted head height throughout the second floor, which only adds to its character and charm. Here there are three bedrooms, a double, a cosy bunk bedroom and a twin. These rooms share a stylish shower room with a shower and WC.
Heading into the garden from the kitchen/diner you can relax on the large patio, which is immediately to the rear of the cottage and is furnished with tables and chairs, a fire pit and a gas BBQ. A sloped border and flight of steps leads up from here to a large elevated area of lawn. There is off-road parking to the side of the cottage for two cars and further road side parking to the front (subject to availability). Please note that due to the village location the property is not suitable for noisy late night celebrations on the patio.
