At the opposite end is the light-filled garden room, a quiet sanctuary with a piano and French doors leading out to the pretty garden. Weary from your day’s adventures, climb the steep stairs from the dining room to find the four bedrooms. The bathroom is also on this floor, consisting of a shower over the bath and WC.

The immaculate garden has a patio for leisurely afternoon BBQs and pre-dinner drinks, with steps leading up to a sloping lawn surrounded by flowering shrubs. Another patio sits at the top of the garden in a perfect spot for catching the sun throughout the day.

We stayed for 2 nights for a family wedding in Winfrith Newburgh. The cottage is easy to find and perfectly located to walk around the village. It was very clean, and had plenty of space for 4 adults, including an exceptionally well equipped kitchen with a bean to cup coffee machine, which was much appreciated. Amazing, homely cottage with an exceptional array of equipment and comfort. Had the wow factor from the point of arrival at the scenic location, which continued as we entered the high quality accommodation. A really lovely house , exceptionally cosy and warm for winter break. Super comfortable beds, and very well stocked. Welcome box with tea and coffee a very nice touch and a starter fire kit. The place felt like home from day one and we were reluctant to leave. Ideal for a family and for a group of pensioners!

A great place for a 3 generational Christmas celebration. Having a high quality, tuned piano added hugely to festivities and we found both the village church and store very friendly. Surrounded by dorset countryside and Lulworth cove is just down the road.

Thornicks House is a lovely cottage and garden in a very pretty village. We really appreciated the peaceful surroundings and found good local walks. There is only one pub/restaurant within easy walking distance - we would have liked to make less use of the car but there is much to do in this beautiful area.
