This charming stunning 18th-century Grade II-listed cottage is full of character and ideally located in the village of Corfe Castle.

Situated close to the bustling centre of Corfe Castle, this beautiful traditional cottage is packed full of style. The immediate vicinity of the property is a quiet idyll yet step a little further away and you are in the centre of the village and near the ruins of Corfe Castle. Corfe Castle was originally constructed in the 11th century by William the Conqueror and has been adapted on many occasions since. During the summer, the Purbeck Film Festival holds movie evenings at the castle which are a spectacular experience. Younger visitors will love the model village, while older visitors who remember the Famous Five books by Enid Blyton might be interested to know that Corfe Castle was the inspiration for Kirrin Castle.

A beautiful stone archway holds the entrance to this cottage and on entering through the stable door into the hall, the period features appear instantly visible. The beautiful flagstone floor is a wonderful addition which extends into the adjoining kitchen/breakfast room. The period features continue with stone walls and an original bread oven in its own inglenook, but this is mixed with appliances befitting a modern-day kitchen. The dining room is reached down two steps and has a wonderful parquet floor and feature fireplace; there are then two steps into the sitting room with continuing parquet flooring, log burner and comfortable furniture to relax in. Up the open-tread carpeted stairs there are three good-sized bedrooms, all with beams and associated reduced ceiling height. The first double bedroom has an en-suite, up three steps, and this is home to a sumptuous roll-top bath and separate shower, WC and basin. The two remaining bedrooms have wonderful views and share a family bathroom with shower over bath, WC and basin.

The front of this property is located on a village lane while the rear has a pretty cottage garden with terrace, shrubbery, trees and blooming flower beds. To fully experience the nature on offer at this property, you should visit the property’s wilder garden a little further up through the main garden.

The cottage is pretty, well-equipped and well- located in Corfe. The lack of parking was not really an issue because the permitted spot is nearby and you can unload/load using the parking bay opposite the house. The only issue we had was that the house was cold, especially downstairs - even with the heating on/a fire. On the first evening the heatiRead moreng was programmed to come on as we arrived at 5pm, which we felt was not very welcoming. The house was stone cold, perhaps unheated for some time? Hide

Absolutely loved this place. Really beautiful and relaxing. Very clean and welcoming on arrival. We did mainly self catering and the stunning kitchen was an absolute pleasure to cook in with all the implements and dishes you could possibly think of. Location was fabulous for all the local sites, would heartily recommend.

Had a lovely break in Corte Castle bakery in village was good, steam train too, pub food excellent the cottage was well equipped stairs a bit steep but we managed garden lovely and secluded.

Jasmine cottage is absolutely beautiful. The garden has to be seen to be believed & the location was very hard to beat. Jasmine cottage was in a super location and a great base for exploring the beautiful coastline and local attractions. Being over 300 years old, the cottage was full of character and charm, and the garden was lovely. Very comfortable cottage in an excellent location and well equipped. The kitchen had everything one needs and the provision of tea, coffee, milk and an apple cake on arrival was a really nice touch. Lovely little well equipped cottage. Great kitchen and bathroom, which are clearly quite new. Parking space very handy. Lovely garden but no relaxing chairs (not even a deckchair) so hard to enjoy it. No shaving socket to charge toothbrush. Double bed a bit small for us (or maybe we are a bit big!). This is a lovely cottage which we have stayed in many, many times over the last 10 years. Very well furnished & comfortable, a very well equipped kitchen & 2 good bathrooms. The cottage was not properly cleaned for our stay. Ensuite WC bowl stained and (very personal) items + sweet wrappers left by previous guests. The 2 armchairs filthy & stained & soft furnishings marked. Main bathroom with electric shower very small and basic & 1 basin tap didn't work. Hot water issues in ensuite.
