  • Ideal location in a seaside village which lies in the heart of the Jurassic Coast's fossil hunting country
  • Great destination for walking with many scenic routes inland and along the South West Coast Path
Property code: DC080

Located only half a mile from the wonderful Charmouth Beach, nothing says 'revitalise' like a healthy dose of sea air to start and end your day.

On the doorstep of some of Dorset’s most exquisite natural gems, spend hours and days exploring the surrounding areas. Hunt for fossils on Charmouth Beach and stroll past colourful beach huts, ice cream in hand. Take your dog to the year-round dog-friendly Monmouth Beach (3.5 miles) and cool off toes and paws with a splash in the sea. For the best vistas, stretch your legs with a walk up the magnificent Golden Cap (4.5 miles) and later refuel with a bite to eat in the local pub (50 yards).

Take three steps down to the front door and let your eyes roam over the bright, beautiful spaces within. Set across the ground floor, the spacious lounge and kitchen/diner welcome you with lashings of light and a playful mix of classic and contemporary. Stretch out on the sofa as the wood burner casts its amber glow across the room and watch on as the kids set to work on a board game. For later on, there is a Smart TV and DVD player in the lounge so you can find a film or documentary to suit everyone and settle in for an evening of light entertainment accompanied by some sweet treats. For lunches and dinners at home, delve into the fridge and cupboards and get cracking on delicious family meals. As tantalising aromas waft their way from the oven, lay up the dining table or, for something extra special, prepare the outside table for feasts under the open sky. When you can feel tiredness begin to kick in, the staircase will lead you to the first floor. Here you will discover the three bedrooms and the family bathroom. Made up of two double bedrooms, one with far reaching countryside views, and one single. The cosy bedrooms all enjoy natural light and, for extra indulgent, are each kitted out with Smart TVs. For a morning rinse or evening soak, the family bathroom on the first floor has a shower over the bath and a heated towel rail so you can wrap yourself up in a warm, fluffy embrace.

Outside, the cottage benefits from an enclosed suntrap courtyard. Elegantly designed and bordered by pretty pot plants, it is a wonderful spot to sit with a book in the sunshine or gather around the table and chairs in the evening over a bottle of wine.

Great attractive and comfortable cottage nicely furnished and quality appliances/equipment. Easy to park on road opposite always space. 10 minutes walk to brilliant dog friendly beach. Great base to explore surrounding area. Jonny the owner was kind enough to find and return something we left behind. We will return in the future.

a very pretty cottage well decorated, but I found the road it is on too busy and noisy at the back too as it has the main road not far. one of the room was very small. On the plus side It is within walking distance to the beach.

What a fantastic weekend, made even more pleasant by the stunning weather. Jonny the owner ,was really helpful and accommodated our requests for an early check in and late check out. The cottage is really lovely and finished to a high standard. Everything is top quality and really clean. The beds are really comfortable too. We took the walk across Read morethe golf course to Lyme Regis, a really lovely walk. On the way back we timed it when the tide was out and walked back along the beach, terrific day. Hide

Lovely little cottage where we spent Christmas as a family. Great spot to explore the area, walk to the beach and the pub. Drove into Lyme, Axminster and Bridport. Cottage had all we needed, sightly difficult to park. Woodburner was great for a chilly Christmas and we felt very cosy.

Absolutely loved this property. Real cottage feel to it with low ceilings, small windows, it was beautiful. There is absolutely nothing you need coming here, the owners had thought of everything. Even dog treats. Perfect few minutes walk to the beach, few little shops and close to Lyme Regis. This place is a must and we will be back to stay here.

A fab cottage, had everything we needed. We loved Charmouth, just a lovely little seaside town. Had some lovely meals in the local pubs. The beautiful town of Lyme Regis was only a short drive away. Enjoyed a fabulous Sunday roast in The Anchor Inn in Beer, which I'd highly recommend

A very pleased character property in a lovely village. We had a great week here. The parking at the property is only sufficient for a small car, so don't book based on onsite parking. But plenty of nr by places to park.

The courtyard garden was well used whenever the showers permitted. Loads of character, a gem of a cottage. Great location for exploring the area and Charmouth is a lovely friendly village. The cottage was in a good location, but the parking was horrendous unless you have a smart car ! And we were not in the height of season. I would say no more than 4 people to stay or 2 with one dog as the second main bedroom is tight .
