Set within an idyllic garden overlooking a stream and pastureland, this couple's bolthole is perfect for touring, contemporary kitchen and a dog-friendly garden.

Close to the border between Somerset and Dorset, this charming property is within easy reach of some of the region's most popular attractions, including the Fleet Air Arm Museum and Haynes Motor Museum. Heading 15 miles to the south will bring you to the picturesque Jurassic Coastline, where you can explore the cobbled streets of Lyme Regis and the striking beach at West Bay or go fossil hunting at Charmouth. Axminster is a hotspot for foodies and the eclectic town of Bridport is ideal for those wishing to seek out vintage treasures. Local amenities can be found just 2 miles away in Crewkerne and the whole area is surrounded by rolling countryside, perfect for long walks.

Set alongside the owners’ home, yet with privacy assured, a path and short flight of external steps lead to the private entrance into this detached single storey property. Once inside, you are met with a light and bright lounge/diner with a TV, ideal for those cosy evenings in. To the left is the inviting king-size bedroom, which has dual-aspect windows overlooking the garden and countryside. Heading back through the lounge and up two steps will take you into the contemporary kitchen. There is an electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge with ice compartment. Just next door is a bathroom, with a shower over the bath and WC, which completes the accommodation.

The main entrance also leads to an enclosed garden. A patio and lawn are set beneath the trees and there is furniture ideal for enjoying a leisurely meal or drink. A stream runs directly behind the garden and the sounds of the water, along with the birdsong, makes this an idyllic spot in which to spend time..

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Cosy cottage ideal for a couple with a dog. Lovely garden. Train goes past every 30 minutes but not a distraction. Good nights sleep. The owner very friendly.

We had a lovely four days at the cottage, ideal setting, very peaceful and relaxing, super comfortable bed and the lovely sound of the river at the end of the garden sipping a G&T. Beautifully situated cottage which the picture doesn't do justice to! Although there is a railway line nearby, by Day 2 we'd got so used to it we didn't notice. Otherwise it is a very quiet spot with an enclosed space for a dog to stretch his legs and overlooks the owners beautiful cottage-y garden. Cottage is well-equipped, comfy bed and nicely fuRead morernished (though you might need to take a hairdryer!). Plenty to do and see in the area with some highly recommended pubs - a lovely spot. Great host lovely little property with its own garden. Great for relaxing away from the stresses of modern life. Lots to see and do in the area would highly recommend the property.

A lovely self contained accommodation within the grounds of the owners property, with it's own small, secluded garden overlooking a beautiful field. We had such a wonderful stay.
