Situated next to the owner’s property with its own entrance, this impressive reverse level cottage has been refurbished to a high standard and is perfect for couples looking for a cosy break. Within walking distance of the popular town centre of Bridport, which has a choice of restaurants, pubs and shops for those essential supplies, as well as a thriving selection of boutiques selling antiques and vintage curios, should you wish to seek out some treasures. The town is well known for its popular weekly markets with a good selection of stalls including foodstuffs, clothing, flowers, Bric-a-Brac and much more. For vintage and antique lovers, there is also a seasonal monthly market which attracts people from far and wide. The property is also close to a range of visitor attractions, including Bridport Golf Club and Axe Valley Wildlife Park. Nearby West Bay, made famous by the BBC series Broadchurch, has a sandy beach with stunning cliffs as the back drop. Set in the heart of the Jurassic Coast and in an area of outstanding natural beauty, you will find this picturesque area has an abundance of pretty towns and villages, which are ideal for walking and outdoor pursuits.

Stepping through the front door, you will find an inviting lounge which is a superb place to unwind in front of the electric effect wood burner. There is a sofa and armchair, TV, DVD and a door leading outside to the shared garden. There is also a sofa bed if required in the lounge. As you make your way up the stairs you will encounter the delightful light and airy bedroom with a king-size bed and pleasant views. Follow a short, tastefully decorated hallway into the quirky first-floor kitchen. This room has a dining table with seating for two overlooking the garden, as well as an electric oven and hob, dishwasher and microwave. The fridge and freezer can be found in a utility room. Also on the first floor is the bathroom which has a shower over the bath and a WC.

The shared, enclosed garden is accessed from the lounge and has outdoor furniture. There is a patio area to relax in and catch the sun, read or enjoy some al fresco dining. Also in the garden is access to an adjacent outbuilding containing a washing machine and tumble dryer for convenience. Roadside parking is available for one car in the private lane outside the property.

Really good location, great walks. Cottage was really great with everything you need. Thoughtful extras, immaculately presented, charming, warm and cosy. Easy to find and plenty of instructions for appliances and local information. Would go back again.

A cosy cottage ideally situated for Bridport and easy walking distance to West Bay. The owners really have thought of everything for your stay and the cottage is tastefully decorated and qurky with the kitchen upstairs. Wendy and Bill are perfect hosts and ensure your break is perfect. The only drawback for me was the soft mattress but you cant accRead moreount for everyone's preferences. The Crown Inn is a stone's throw away . In summary this is 5* accmmendation in our opinion and highly recommended! Hide

The cottage is reverse level with the kitchen being on the upper floor. We really appreciated the extra kitchen space and large table. In small cottages you often find the kitchens are small with a tiny dining table. The owners have paid a lot of attention to detail and ensured that their guests have a really comfortable stay.

Wanderwell is a perfect base for a break, a short walk from West Bay & close to the main road to all locations across Dorset. Fantastic facilities, comfortable & relaxing - perfect for us.
