Set in a tranquil village location, this stylish former barn offers views over surrounding fields, spacious rooms and an abundance of charm. The picturesque village of Yetminster has a pub, coffee shop and general store and is surrounded by open countryside, making it the ideal spot for walkers and nature lovers alike. A wide choice of pretty towns, villages and beaches are accessible from here by car or train, including the market town of Sherborne, which offers a great selection of artisan cafes, boutique shops and restaurants. The train station in the village links to Bath and Weymouth. Heading south from the barn is the stunning Jurassic Coastline, which provides the ideal backdrop for all manner of outdoor pursuits, or take a trip into Somerset in the North, with its many attractions such as The Haynes Motor Museum, Ham Hill and Montacute House.

Having taken the short stroll from the roadside parking area to the property, you are met by a bright and airy kitchen with adjacent utility room housing a freezer and washing machine. The stylish kitchen area is well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, fridge, dishwasher and microwave. An archway and 2 steps up lead to the lounge/diner, with doors leading into the garden, electric effect wood burner fire and a Smart TV, this is the ideal place to relax after a day spent exploring. From here there are 2 steps up to a twin bedroom with TV and a shower room opposite, with double shower and WC. Rising from the lounge/diner is a staircase, giving access to a beautiful king-size bedroom with stunning views and an open-plan bathroom, complete with freestanding bath and WC.

Venturing outside you will find a generous private enclosed garden with a wooden gazebo with seating, as well as a decked area, garden furniture and BBQ. Located directly outside of the kitchen and lounge, it’s the perfect spot for enjoying a meal outdoors, whilst taking in the beautiful views over open countryside. There is also an outside tap for muddy paws and boots. Roadside parking nearby for several cars subject to availability.

Cosy cottage in a good village location with wonderful views, especially from the main bedroom. This is our fifth visit to Mallows and it's the best cottage we stay at. Views are spectacular, the hosts are very helpful and the accommodation is very comfortable. Looking forward to our next visit.

Absolutely perfect. The only reason for the 4/5 in equipment is a detail that we're sure the owners will take care of, because that is how the whole place feels. We really loved it. What a fabulous cottage! Everything you would need including two full sized bathrooms - one with a huge shower. A utility room with freezer and washing machine. The views from the lounge and kitchen were amazing. The village is historic with 17th and 18th century properties. Super accommodation set in a beautiful position overlooking an uninterrupted view of the countryside. South facing Garden was lovely to sit out in and nothing was lacking. This is our favourite holiday cottage. It is spotlessly clean, very comfortable and blessed with wonderful views. Yetminster is an ideal place to stay with a local shop and a decent pub. There's also a nearby train station should you wish to have a day without the car. The owners are a lovely couple, on hand to help and advise but never intrusive. I cannot recommend this stay enough, the converted barn has wonderful facilities, great views and in a lovely little village with pub and shop in walking distance. Wonderful accommodation, very welcoming hosts. Virtually EVERYTHING was provided. Fabulous shop for essentials only a 5 minute walk in the village and lovely pub - doesn't do food every night though, but Kings Arms nearby was also great and The Half Moon in Sherborne was excellent value for money.

This was our third visit to Mallows Byre and it did not disappoint. Such a lovely relaxing location and the cottage is so well equipped and very comfortable. Rob and Daphne are great hosts and make you feel so welcome each time. We do hope to visit again in the future.
