Set in a tranquil spot in a pretty Dorset village, this attractive and cosy cottage offers lovely accommodation for a family or a couple seeking a perfect base for exploring the Lyme Regis area.

Charmouth is a relaxing coastal village set in a delightful part of the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has a stunning beach which is a fantastic spot for fossil hunting. The historic town of Lyme Regis (3 miles) is known for its associations with Jane Austen and Henry Fielding and is home to the famous 13th-century Cobb Harbour. The town also offers a range of places to eat and drink, as well as independent shops, a theatre, cinema and a beautiful beach with views over Lyme Bay. The area makes an ideal gateway to Dorset’s Jurassic Coast, and there are many miles of coastal, rural and clifftop walks to enjoy, with Golden Cap just 6 miles away.

On entering this light, attractive and welcoming 18th-century cottage which is located up a steep, quiet lane, you will find yourself in the spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The delightful lounge is a lovely space to relax in, with comfortable seating, Smart TV/DVD, music system, a warming wood burner and a large selection of DVDs. There is a charming dining area and the kitchen is fully equipped with an induction hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. The freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer are stored in the adjacent utility area. Upstairs there are two cosy bedrooms: one double room with a TV and glimpses towards the sea and a twin room overlooking the garden. Please note the twin room has reduced height in the eaves. You will also find a shower room complete with shower and WC on the first floor.

Heading outside, there is a small courtyard to the front of the property. The pretty back garden is reached via a few steps and has a sunny terrace with garden furniture, a BBQ and a large, sloped lawn area. From here you can enjoy an al fresco meal and admire the fabulous views of the surrounding countryside. Parking is available on the lane, which leads to a small nature reserve.

Lovely cottage and superbly prepared for visitors with handy info and a selection of games. Short stroll to the high street and 10 min walk to the beach.

Fantastic cottage with all that you could need. We couldn't find any improvements needed the cottage had everything and more with all the games to entertain you if the weather wasn't good. We had the best weather after the not so good August so having the garden from early morning coffees till late night drinks was perfect for us. We had a really good relaxing holiday, the cottage was so quite and peaceful, it was just right for our week away, beds are very comfortable, kitchen well equipped with the bonus of dishwasher,washing machine and tumble dryer. Very clean, lovely soft furnishings and new carpets. Quiet and relaxing. The cottage is on a very steep road, but if you can cope with that then it's a short walk to the seafront. There's a lovely wood burning stove in the living room which I imagine would be great during a winter stay.

Lovely cottage in a quiet area. It's ok for a family of 4. ( but only one bathroom) Felt at home from the first moment. There were nice flowers on the table and a welcome present with juice, biscuits and crisps :-) Very confortable beds and wonderful view! Would come back at every time!

This is a small cottage, with one double bedroom and a two single bedroom. The cottage is situated on a steep hill. You can park anywhere along it as long as your handbrake works well . Leave your car in gear. Ordinary sized car can turn around, with great care. What an amazing place! Spotlessly clean, extremely well equipped, good space for a family of four. Nice sized garden for kids to run around in or have a bbq on the patio. The hill has been mentioned enough, I think :) We had a great week.

Lovely cottage on a very steep hill, upstairs modern light and airy. Ground floor dark although modern kitchen. Not easy access to garden if your not steady on your legs.
