Perfect for a couple wanting to explore the wonderful coast and beautiful countryside, this lovely and cosy rural stone cottage lies in a tranquil hamlet in the heart of the picturesque Purbeck Hills.

This charming cottage stands in the lovely hamlet of Acton, almost surrounded by National Trust land, amid the beautiful Purbeck Hills. It’s a nature lover’s dream with a rich range of birds, butterflies and wildflowers. This is a wonderful walking and cycling area with paths and bridleways directly from the door. You can enjoy a stroll to the sea at Dancing Ledge, or visit the delightful villages of Langton Matravers and Worth Matravers. The Priests Way provides a fairly direct path for walkers and cyclists to Swanage. The lovely sandy beach of Swanage is ideal for swimming, paddling, boating, diving and fishing. The Swanage steam railway links the town with the historic and picturesque village of Corfe Castle.

On entering this bright and pretty traditional quarryman’s cottage which retains original features including a flagstone floor and exposed beams, you will find yourself in the attractive and inviting lounge. With comfy seating, TV/DVD and a traditional wood burner, this is an ideal space to relax in. You will also find a charming dining area, and the kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge with ice compartment. Steep open tread stairs, with a rope banister, wind up to the first floor where you will find a lovely and cosy double bedroom with windows on both sides of the room and views across the fields towards the coast. There is also a shower room complete with a WC. Please be aware that the steep stairs in the cottage may be unsuitable for anyone with agility issues.

Stepping outside, you will find a charming walled and paved courtyard which has a gated entrance. This is an attractive place to relax in and garden furniture is provided so you can enjoy dining outside. On arrival, you can stop on the unmade track beside the cottage to unpack your car, and a parking space is available in the quiet lane within a short walk. Low slung vehicles need to take extra care on this path. A regular bus service is within a 5 minute walk offering direct access to Swanage, Corfe Castle, Wareham and Poole, making this an ideal cottage for visitors wishing to leave their car at home.

Dogs fees are charged per dog at £20.00 for up to 7 nights, £40.00 for up to 14 nights and an additional £20.00 for every week or part week thereafter.

A very cosy cottage that is well equipped with an enclosed paved garden in the hamlet of Acton. It is close to walks such as the Priest's Way and a short drive to Swanage and then onto Studland Bay. The Scott's Arms in Kingston serves very good food with views of Corfe Castle and beyond plus it is dog friendly.

It is a lovely little cottage, in a perfect spot for walkers or those wanting to get away from it all, great for 2 of us and the dog, we really enjoyed it and the area. A reasonable price also.

The cottage was ideal, comfortable and well equipped. It was in a good location for visitors - and I could leave the car outside the cottage as the efficient bus service was at the end of the road. Perfect (well apart from the weather!).

A superb cosy coastal property. The owners provided everything needed for a lovely holiday. A superbly comfortable bed, and good shower - two major plus factors! Superbly located, cannot fault it any way and will definitely return for another visit. If only all holiday cottages were so well equipped. A complete joy. Didn't want to come home.
