Ideally placed spending for days spent exploring beautiful West Dorset and the Jurassic Coast, this charming Grade II listed cottage has everything you could need for a truly relaxing family holiday

Part of a pretty terrace in the small village of Uploders, this quintessentially English cottage is built from beautiful honey coloured stone and has a homely ambience, which is evident from the moment you step through the door. This property is in an ideal location for walkers wishing to explore the beautiful countryside and coastal footpaths or spend your days exploring the lovely local beaches including West Bay, Eype and Burton Bradstock. The nearby market town of Bridport has a vibrant high street including an eclectic selection of boutique shops selling vintage treasures, as well as essential supplies. Within a short drive is Furleigh Estate vineyard where you can sample its award winning sparkling wines. Take a trip to the Swannery and Children's Farm at Abbotsbury or wander around the Sub-tropical gardens. Whatever the weather you will find plenty to do.

From the quiet roadside take one step up to the front door. Once inside you are met with a hallway leading immediately to the lounge on the left, with a Smart TV, inglenook fireplace including ornamental feature wood burner and an original bread oven, this is the perfect spot in which to settle down in front of your favourite shows. There is a choice of toys to keep younger guests amused and a range of board games, ideal for spending afternoons enjoying quality time together. Just next door is the light and airy kitchen/diner, which is well-equipped for the best of cooks with an electric oven and hob, microwave, washing machine, fridge/freezer, coffee machine and dishwasher. A dining table here is the perfect place to enjoy your meals, accompanied by the sound of birdsong. When the day is done head back into the hallway where you will find the bathroom, which has a shower over bath and WC. Next take the winding cottage style stairs to the first floor. Here you will find a bright and airy, dual aspect super-king-size bedroom decorated with care in calming colours to ensure a restful sleep. Adjacent is a cosy twin room with a view of the garden. Due to the age of the property there are character features throughout including narrow doorways, areas of restricted head height and uneven floors, which only adds to its charm.

To the rear of the cottage is a pretty terraced garden, which is fully enclosed and has a patio complete with garden furniture perfect for dining outdoors, plus narrow steps (care to be taken with children) to a further area of garden that has been laid to lawn and includes a fabulous wendy house for the little ones. To the front of the property there is roadside parking (subject to availability).

Ambers is a really lovely cottage, very cosy and well equipped with kitchen equipment/books/games etc. Pretty village with a riverside walk on the doorstep. The local pub was very welcoming, with good food. Would definitely recommend, and stay again if we come this way another time.

We had a good week at the cottage, notwithstanding the torrential rain. It is well equipped and comfortable. The kitchen diner is a good size, as are the living room and bedroom. The main difficulty is the shower over the bath, which is inadequate and also uncomfortable (due to the low ceiling pointed out by the owners). The only problem we had wasRead more the poor drainage of the bathtub which left water behind. If this is fixed This cottage represents good value for the Jurassic Coast. Hide

A lovely cottage in a quiet location. We spent a week and would happily have stayed a month! The little terraced patio part of the garden was a great place for morning coffee and evening meals. A comfortable thatched cottage in a village well positioned for the coast path walks we wanted to do between Lyme and Weymouth. Very welcoming village pub. Parking immediately outside no problem during our stay.

The cottage is in a great location if you're seeking peace and quiet plus its situated between Weymouth and Lyme Regis so its ideal if you fancy visiting coastal areas not to far away. Beautiful cottage with the best equipped kitchen I have ever come across in a holiday let. Lovely village location with a local pub and a short walk to a second one. It is only a short drive to a lovely beach and special cafe.
