Dorset is the ultimate coastal county, having more iconic, picture worthy and outstanding cliffs, beaches and eye-catching features than any other county in the UK. The Jurassic Coast is the dominant attraction of Dorset, stretching along the length of the county, combine this with some attractive and busy harbours, and add a scattering of small villages and quaint towns and the most amazing views of Dorset can be found.
This image shows what Dorset is all about in one photograph: the sea meeting the land on beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see, backed by rolling green hills with a village sat in the middle of the countryside.
The beaches are a very popular attraction for holidaymakers and locals alike, for sunbathing and surfing. With images like this, it is easy to see why.
When the desire to be on the beach passes it is then easy to hop from the sand to the green hills of Dorset. Picnic on top of this hill anyone?
Speaking of picnics, the best way to enjoy one it to stroll or hike to the perfect spot in order to enjoy the best that nature can offer. Like in this field for instance.

Maybe even in the rural Blandford along this riverside path and over the bridge to find the ideal spot.
Whilst inland and away from the coast, take some time to visit a few of the many historical castle ruins that Dorset has to offer, such as Corfe Castle.
Which looks amazing in any weather.
Some Dorset scenery is more recognisable than others, TV fans will know this one from Broadchurch.
Durdle Door, and its wonderfully located beach, is another well-known image.
These are not the iconic White Cliffs of Dover, they are instead on the Dorset coast and much more fascinating due to the separate rock formations.
The clear waters here are not tucked away in a hot Mediterranean Island but in our very own Lulworth Cove.
Just off the Bournemouth Coast is the pier where families and friends can pass the days away with the amusements on offer.
Other attractions along the coastline include lighthouses, such as the one visible in this picture.
