Dorset's beautiful landscape of rolling chalk downland affords wonderful walking, there are a network of footpaths directly from the property. The property is nestled in a rural location with views across the fields where you can often see sheep and horses grazing. For fishing enthusiasts, guests can arrange with the owner to fish on either the privately owned 4 mile stretch of the River Frome or on the private fishing lake which is within walking distance from the property. The area offers a wealth of pretty villages, sandy beaches and a coastline which has World Heritage status. The towns of Dorchester, Sherborne and Yeovil are easily accessible and there are many National Trust properties to visit. The popular seaside town of Weymouth with its sandy beach is a 20 minute drive and the harbour town of West Bay is a 30 minute drive. In addition to this there are many attractions including Yeovilton Fleet Air Arm Museum, Monkey World, Hardy’s Cottage and Abbotsbury Swannery.

Entering the property from the enclosed terrace you are met by a beautiful lounge/kitchen/diner with an impressive apex ceiling, exposed beams, French doors, oak flooring and impressive chandeliers. Here you can relax and enjoy the countryside views while snuggled up in front of the wood burner. The property is always toasty and warm with underfloor heating throughout. Enjoy watching your favourite programme on the TV or take time to enjoy a DVD. The impressive kitchen is very well-equipped and is perfect to try out some new recipes or cook some old family favourites. The kitchen has a Rangemaster electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There is also a utility room with a useful cloakroom with WC. Leading from the lounge area are two of the four bedrooms, both are super-king-size zip-and-links (which can be made into a twin on request at time of booking) with TV’s and spacious en-suite bathrooms with a shower, bath and WC. Walking back through the lounge/kitchen/diner will lead you to the final two bedrooms again both super-king-size zip-and-links (which can be made into a twin on request at time of booking) with TV’s and spacious en-suite bathrooms with a shower, bath and WC. All four bedrooms are beautifully furnished, with luxury bed linen and boast countryside views.

Venturing out of the large French doors from the lounge/kitchen/diner you will find yourself on the private south facing enclosed terrace. A perfect place to enjoy some outside dining with garden furniture, BBQ and fabulous countryside views. Head across from the terrace to the oak framed open summerhouse which has a table tennis table, comfortable garden furniture and a fridge – an idyllic peaceful area to relax and watch the sun go down with a refreshing beverage.

It was a beautiful barn in a stunning peaceful location easy access to many attractions.We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the table tennis was an added bonus.

We had a lovely stay with our family. It was so lovely to sit outside and have a drink, as it is so peaceful. The barn is so well equipped, with so much attention to detail. There was lots of places nearby to visit. We would love to stay there again. Highly recommended.

Lovely accommodation, well-appointed. Plenty of room for three generations of our family to spread themselves. Outside area was sadly under-used by us as weather was so bad. Table tennis was played with only once and the BBQ stayed covered. No blaming the owners for that, just a record-breaking wet July! We celebrated two big birthdays and one smalRead moreler one while we were there and were also treated to a 7 course tasting menu by a professional private chef who found the facilities plentiful. Beautiful property, well equipped in a lovely convenient location. A lot of thought has gone into this barn conversion. All four bedrooms and en suites very similar and to a high standard, with option for super king size or twin set up. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Perfect for a family get together; comfortable for grandparents, spacious for the kids. Everything you need for a great stay, lovely open kitchen/dining area and a cosy lounge. A very lovely cottage which has been well thought out. Lots of room for groups and all of the rooms & en-suites are of a high standard. Nice rural location and our toddler loved having the sheep in the field right by the window, and seeing the sheep shearing - made his day! This was a last minute booking due to an unexpected cancellation of our booked holiday. What a surprise this is a beautiful barn conversion in lovely surroundings and it just has everything you need and all top quality it deserves it's 5 star rating.
